Paliscope contributes with intelligence analysis for Wall Street Journal’s documentary “Shadow Men: Inside Wagner, Russia’s Secret War Company”

June 9th, the Wall Street Journal published a documentary about the evolution of the Wagner Group from a small, guns-for-hire operation into a sprawling network of businesses that has been active on four continents and stand accused of numerous war crimes.

It has become increasingly important to understand the Wagner Group as they have evolved into a core component of Russian warfighting in Ukraine. Monitoring and analyzing their command and control structures as well as their operations is key, not only to gain insights, but also to document and bring to justice the numerous war crimes the group is accused of.

Paliscope’s team of in-house analysts has supported the Wall Street Journal’s research by collecting and analyzing open source intelligence related to the Wagner Group and its proxy networks. The analysis has, amongst other, included:
