Gothenburg, Sweden, March 21 – Paliscope today announced alliance with the International Centre for Missing & Exploited Children (ICMEC) to further equip law enforcement professionals with the tools they need to combat online child exploitation.
Through Paliscope’s peer companies, NetClean and Griffeye, we have had the privilege of working together with ICMEC for almost 10 years, said Christian Berg, CEO and founder of Paliscope. “Now we are proud to also be able to contribute to their important training of police officers and investigators combating child sexual exploitation online.”
Paliscope will be used in ICMEC’s Global Training Academy. Through this program, ICMEC has provided training to over 15,000 individuals from over 120 countries on various aspects of child protection, including online child sexual abuse and exploitation. By incorporating Paliscope to the program, law enforcement professionals will not only get an enhanced learning experience but also be able to more effectively conduct online investigations.
Law enforcement needs the right tools to properly respond,” said Guillermo Galarza, Director of Law Enforcement Training & Technology at ICMEC. “Paliscope will help enhance the technological capacity of law enforcement to investigate crimes against children and to bring perpetrators to justice.”
Combining global strength and knowledge with innovative technology provides ICMEC with a solid foundation to help train law enforcement professionals in their job to tackle these sorts of crimes online. This collaboration will help investigators to advance their knowledge and skills to locate, collect, and analyze potential evidence found online, and gain more insights into online acts and behavior, as well as evidence in criminal cases.
Every child deserves a safe childhood. Twenty years ago, the International Centre for Missing & Exploited Children (ICMEC) was created to achieve that goal: it is ICMEC’s mission to protect children from abduction, sexual abuse and exploitation. Through its headquarters in the United States, and its regional representation in Brazil (for Latin America and the Caribbean) and Singapore (for Asia-Pacific), ICMEC works tirelessly to make the world safer for children by advocating for better global and regional child protection laws, collaborating with international partners, and training professionals who work with children.
ICMEC is a non-profit organization relying on donations from individuals, corporations and foundations.
