Could not keep up with workload
Our client's remit focuses on monitoring cross-border organized crime, with a particular focus on maritime-enabled threats ranging from the importation of illicit and narcotic material in addition to human trafficking.
Additionally, their team coordinates with several other tactical intelligence teams responsible for detecting financial crimes and child sexual abuse. This means that they receive within the region of 2000 reports per week; such reports include HUMINT source reporting cellular metadata and information extracted from open sources.
Before embarking on a journey with Paliscope, they simply could not keep up with their workload – meaning that the risk of criminals going unnoticed was on an upward trend. Solution
Implemented Discovry and YOSE within team
They oversaw a trial implementation of Discovry and YOSE within their team – the intention being to identify a solution that would eventually be implemented across the entire department responsible for processing, analyzing, and reporting intelligence.
Drawing on the expertise of Paliscope’s team of former Law Enforcement professionals, they implemented Discovry and YOSE within their team and immediately set about indexing tens of thousands of data and information files.
After which, the Paliscope team provided them with a complete range of training that enabled them to use Paliscopes systems effectively and resulted in their team discovering new techniques that they could use to identify and extract open-source data concerning criminal-related activity. The implementation of Discovry and YOSE, in addition to specialized training in open-source intelligence (OSINT) techniques from Paliscope experts, has been implemented across our entire department. This means we now work more collaboratively, enabling us to combine our efforts to identify, investigate, arrest, and subsequently prosecute dangerous criminals and rescue vulnerable people."
